Vaccination

Vaccination programs are designed to prevent diseases and prolong the lives or your companion animals.

Certainly maintaining a proper and individualize vaccination program is an important preventive aspect of veterinary care. The key word here is “individualized” and tailored to your pet’s exposure probabilities to certain infectious agents and your personal lifestyle and habits.
Like anything in life, there is a risk/ benefit ratio - meaning ‘what have you got to gain’ versus ‘what have I got to lose’ in any decision making situation. All vaccinations are potent biologicals that carry inherent risk (fortunately extremely low risk) but there exists a real possibility of a reaction from mild soreness at injection site to anaphylaxis and death (a reaction similar when a person sensitized to bee venom is stung).
Today we are armed with a multitude of various preventive vaccines in single or combination. Please feel open to discuss what vaccine schedule best suits your pet and lifestyle.
